Sanford School Counseling & Learning Services
Sanford School offers a caring community in which to grow. We are dedicated to the social-emotional wellness and holistic development of all students.
Students benefit when their mental health is a priority. Sanford counselors foster resilience, self-awareness, and social-emotional well-being and help equip students with the tools to manage challenges.
A resource to students, parents, and faculty, school counselors:
- Meet with students individually and in small groups
- Act as a conduit between outside therapeutic providers and the school
- Make professional referrals, as necessary
- Develop and implement educational programming for students and parents
- Work with families to brainstorm academic support for their student and create Sanford Learning Profiles for academic accommodations, as needed
- Offer parents and faculty guidance and information on child and adolescent development
- Assist students and families who are navigating extended absences
- Conduct transition work with students
- Coordinate the work of the advisory system
