  • Before-school Care

    Morning room is a safe, supervised option for Lower School students who arrive between 7 AM and 7:30 AM. Drop off for morning room is on the Yearsley Main Entrance side of Lower School on Siddiqi Way.
  • After-school Care

    Sanford's after-school care is available full or part-time basis for students in grades Preschool through 8. Every member of the team brings special talents and interests to the Extended Day program. They know the children well and enjoy interacting with them. Many of our staff members spend time guest teaching in all three divisions. We are proud to be able to provide a seamless transition from the regular school day until you are able to re-connect with your child later in the evening.

Extended School Day

Sanford School is proud to provide quality and thoughtful after-school care for students in Preschool through Grade 8, Monday through Friday, until 5:30 PM*. Our qualified staff provides a relaxed yet safe and structured environment where students play, complete homework, and enjoy socializing with friends.

Pickup for Preschool-4th grade will be curbside outside of the du Pont Library. Please drive to the bottom of the hill, park on the left side, and come to the lower level entrance. Ring door bell to notify us of your arrival.

*Please note: this information is for regular school day procedures. Expanded Day's schedule is slightly different and may change depending on the time of year. Those hours are 7:30 AM-5:30 PM. Please refer to communications sent out throughout the year regarding these specific days.

  • Preschool–4th Grade

    Locations: Expanded Days will be located in the du Pont Library for ALL pre-registered students. Please read parent communications for further details.

    Extended Day will be located in the duPont Library for Lower School Children. The PS, PK & K groups will be in the lower level, and 1st-4th grade groups will be in the upper level of the library.


    Homework Policy:
    Homework room is held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week for students in grades 1-4. Students are provided 30 minutes of quiet time to complete assignments. 

  • 5th–8th Grade

    Locations: Middle School Library, classrooms, and MS playground/sports fields.
  • Middle School Cell Phone & Smartwatch Policy

    Middle School students are not permitted to use cell phones or smartwatches during Extended Day. Students should inform Extended Day staff if they need to reach their parents. If parents need to reach a student at Extended Day, they may call the Middle School Extended Day Extension (302. 235.6571). Texting friends, taking pictures, taking videos, or recording audio will NOT be permitted under ANY circumstances. Phones will be confiscated if they are misused during after-school hours and returned to parents at pick-up.
  • Movie and Chromebook Policies

    During inclement weather and on Fridays, we may schedule movie time. Generally, all ages are permitted to view G-rated movies, and students in grades 1–8 are permitted to watch PG-rated movies. Not all PG-rated movies are appropriate for all ages. The Extended Day Staff will determine the appropriateness of all content.  

    If you prefer to opt your child out of movie time please feel free to reach out the the Director of Extended Day to make alternate arrangements during those hours.

    School Issued chromebooks may be used after school for homework purposes on an as needed basis. All expectations mirror those of the regular school day as explained in the technology agreements for all students. Extended Day Staff will monitor usage through the "Go-Guardian" system. For further clarification please reach out to the Director of Extended Day.
