Artwork created by several Sanford students was displayed during the month of March in celebration of Youth Art Month.
Students exhibited in two local shows and one exhibit in New Orleans. At the Biggs Museum in Dover, works by kindergartener Kelsea Conway, third grader Cailin Conway, and senior Ivana Gatica were displayed. Ivana also had another piece exhibited at Darley House in Claymont, Delaware. Second grader Matthew Zhou’s piece was also shown there.
At the National Art Educators Association Conference student exhibit in New Orleans, art by kindergartener Sutton Mix and third grader Finley Anderson was featured.
Youth Art Month is administered every year by the Council for Art Education, and is designed to promote education in the visual arts at all levels, and to “recognize art is a necessity for the full development of better quality of life for all.”
