Carson Kalish ‘25 was named Delaware Boys’ Swimmer of the Year after an outstanding performance at the DIAA State Championships, defending his state titles in the 200 IM and 100 Butterfly.
The Sanford Swim Team capped off an outstanding season at the DIAA State Championships, highlighted by senior Carson Kalish '25 earning the title of Delaware Boys’ Swimmer of the Year. Kalish, a Sanford lifer, dominated the competition by securing two state titles in the 200-yard Individual Medley (1:49.87) and 100 Butterfly (48.46).
Reflecting on his final high school season, Kalish told the Delaware News Journal, “I had a much more confident mindset going into this year. It was my last year. I wanted to leave it all in the pool.” He added, “My mechanics are better. I was much more polished in my races. I didn’t really have anything I was disappointed with.”
Kalish’s performance propelled the Sanford boys' team to an 8th-place finish overall, while the girls' team finished 11th, marking a strong showing for the program at the state meet.
