    I've had the privilege of being a part of the Sanford community as both a student from 2012-2016 and as a faculty/staff member from 2020-2021. Once I returned in 2020, many things had changed since I was a student, but the heart and identity of Sanford remained the same inclusive, compassionate, and student-focused environment that I had left. Stepping back on campus, I felt like I was back at home, but it had been renovated! Now, I am happy to serve on the Young Alumni Board, working to connect the past and present community. Sanford will always remain close to my heart.

    I attended a different school in third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade, but when my family found Sanford, I was finally home. Sanford is certainly the best school in Delaware, but it is so much more than that. The school sets students up for success, yes, but it is not simply a launching pad for some imagined future endeavor; it’s actually enjoyable to attend! I reflect on things I learned at Sanford every day and am proud to count so many of my classmates, teachers, and coaches as friends more than ten years later.

  • Sanford Makes History with 11th DIAA Boys Basketball State Championship

    Sanford School has once again solidified its place in Delaware basketball history, securing a state-record 11th DIAA Boys Basketball Championship with a hard-fought 37-34 victory over Dover at the Bob Carpenter Center.

  • Kalish '25 Named DE Swimmer of the Year

    Carson Kalish ‘25 was named Delaware Boys’ Swimmer of the Year after an outstanding performance at the DIAA State Championships, defending his state titles in the 200 IM and 100 Butterfly.

  • Record-Breaking Performances Propel Sanford Track Team at States

    The Sanford Indoor Track Team delivered an outstanding performance at the DIAA Indoor Track & Field State Championships, earning several top finishes and breaking records along the way. Leading the team was senior Tegan Kovacs ’25, who impressed in both individual and relay events.

    Krape ‘26 Finishes as Runner-Up at State Finals

    Sanford junior Abby Krape ‘26 captivated audiences with her powerful recitations at the Delaware Poetry Out Loud State Finals, finishing as the runner-up in the statewide competition. Held at the historic Smyrna Opera House on February 20, the event brought together Delaware’s top high school poets to showcase their talents.

  • Sanford Welcomes Christine DiUbaldo as Incoming Director of Enrollment Management

    Sanford School is proud to announce that Christine DiUbaldo has been appointed as the next Director of Enrollment Management, effective July 1, 2025. A longtime Sanford educator and administrator, Christine currently serves as Associate Director of Admission.

    Happy Pi Day from our middle schoolers! Our students constructed a pi chain of the first 1,000 digits of pi, color-coded by number. It reached almost the length of Humphreys Field and the entire 5/6 hallway!

    Yesterday, our 7th and 8th Grade Student Council visited United Way of Delaware to donate books collected from our community. Thank you to everyone who supported our students share the joy of reading!

    Four Upper School students represented Sanford at the Delaware State Invitational Math League Competition last week! After placing 1st as a team in regionals, 9th grader Tony Wang and Lucas Yan were invited to compete at the state level. Jessica Meng placed 4th and earned individual invitation after strong performances in the regional rounds.

    This week, seventh and eighth-grade students participated in the 2025 World Language Amazing Race, an immersive academic challenge that integrated French, Spanish, and Latin across five countries.

    Students engaged in interactive tasks, problem-solving activities, and culturally inspired challenges, applying their language skills in a dynamic and collaborative setting. This experience fostered critical thinking, teamwork, and global awareness, reinforcing the importance of language learning through hands-on engagement.

    Selected Sanford students from Ms. Fareed’s 4-6th grade choirs kicked off their Spring Break with 2025 Delaware ACDA’s Children’s Honor Choir held at Newark High School.

    This event hosted over 135 students from 14 different schools in the state of Delaware. This event was organized by Mrs. Kowalski as one of the co-chairs of the Children’s Honor Choir.

    The selected singers for this year were: Heidi Burke, Elliott Williams, Leona Marcozzi, Zoe Adamopoulos, Olivia Gilbert, Kathryn Flathers, Violet Evans, Livia El-Bietar, and Ava Taylor. Singers did an amazing job and had the opportunity to meet students from all over the state!
