Krape '26 to Represent Sanford at DE Poetry Out Loud Competition

On December 4, 2024, Sanford School hosted its annual Poetry Out Loud Competition. The event culminated yesterday with ten Upper School finalists competing to represent Sanford at the State competition. 
Congratulations to the ten talented Upper School students who performed in front of their peers, teachers, judges, and family. Performances were evaluated on accuracy, interpretation, stage presence, voice, and articulation, and each grade representative delivered an outstanding recitation.

Special Congratulations to Our Top Performers:
  • Winner: Abby Krape ’26 — Abby's winning recitations included Flowers by Cynthia Zarin and Trying to See Auras at the Airport by Angela C. Trudell Vasquez.
    Abby will proudly represent Sanford at the Delaware State Finals on February 20, 2025, at the Smyrna Opera House in Smyrna, DE. Learn more about the state competition here: https://arts.delaware.gov/poetry-out-loud/
  • 2nd Place: Perrin Brown ’25
  • 3rd Place: Ana Glanden ’26
