Sanford Middle School’s Science Fair showcased eighth-graders projects in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Consumer Sciences. Congratulations to Nora Xu '29, the overall winner, for her exceptional work on color theory!
The Middle School hosted its 2024-2025 Science Fair on Thursday, December 5. This event provided our eighth-graders invaluable experience presenting their original ideas and findings while receiving constructive feedback from experts in their respective fields.
Mrs. Wharton, an eighth-grade science instructor, expressed her pride in watching her students confidently present and explain their experiments to the judging panel. "Seeing them speak with such poise and passion about their work was truly inspiring," she said. I hope each student leaves today with a strong sense of accomplishment.
The competition featured three judging categories: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Consumer Sciences. Judges selected a "Best in Category" winner for each and an overall winner.
Best in Category Winners:
Consumer Sciences: Elena Carunchio '29, with her experiment on which primer is most effective for long-lasting makeup wear.
Life Sciences: Parker Price '29, for their project exploring how color influences our perception of taste.
