Academic Year 2010-2011
Few investments are as valuable as the one you make in your child’s education.
2010-2011 TUITION
Tuition covers a large portion of the costs associated with providing a rich learning experience for your child, but it does not cover them all; annual giving, endowment income, and foundation gifts cover the balance.
| Junior Kindergarten—Half Day | $10,500 |
| Junior Kindergarten—Full Day | $14,000 |
| Kindergarten | $15,500 |
| First through Fourth Grade | $17,500 |
| Fifth and Sixth Grade | $18,750 |
| Seventh and Eighth Grade | $20,350 |
| Ninth through Twelfth Grade | $22,000 |
ADDITIONAL COSTS
Middle and Upper School students purchase their own books, while Lower School students pay an Instructional Materials Fee. Middle School class trips, yearbook, AP exams, and art supplies are billed separately. Sanford offers an Extended Day Program for students in Grades K – 8, for which there is an additional charge. Students in Grades 1 – 12 who wish to purchase items from Sanford’s cafeteria may set up an account with Aladdin, our service provider. The Admission Office can provide more detailed information about current and estimated costs.
PAYMENT PLANS
Sanford requires an Enrollment Deposit, payable with the return of a signed Enrollment Agreement, of $1,000 or 10% of Net Tuition, whichever is less. Sanford offers several payment plan options to help families pay the balance. All tuition payment plans are managed by Tuition Management Systems.
- One Installment Plan: Pay 100% by August 1.
- Two Installment Plan: 66% due August 1 and 34% due January 1
- 10- and 12-Installment Payment Plans: Pay in ten or twelve installments starting in May. The final installment is due in February for the 10-month plan and in April for the 12-month plan. Tuition Management Systems will charge an Enrollment Fee of $150 for the first child and $40 for subsequent children, but there are no interest charges. Families selecting these plans will be required to participate in the Tuition Refund Insurance Plan at a cost of 1.8% of Net Tuition.
If you are interested in exploring low-interest education loans, call the Admission Office for an updated list of providers.
NEED-BASED FINANCIAL AID
Sanford has a generous need-based financial aid program to support its efforts to develop a student community that is representative of the cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic diversity of our surrounding communities and to make the School accessible to as many enrolled and admitted students as possible, regardless of their families’ ability to pay the full tuition. Once you return the Application for Financial Aid, we will send you instructions for completing the financial aid application process.
