Teachers in Sanford's Lower School provide opportunities
for children to learn, to explore, to create, and to develop relationships.
The small faculty/student ratio affords each child the appropriate
measure of challenge and support within a stimulating and nurturing
environment. The program is based on a series of thematic units
of study. Within this thematic structure, children participate
in tangible, interrelated experiences. Through programs attuned to each child, students master a hierarchy of basic skills, increase
their fund of knowledge, and gain the self confidence necessary
for reaching their full potential.
